Warm Fall

November 4th and there are dandelions going to seed.

The soybean crop has been completed and delivered. The forecast is calling for a week of rain so it feels good to be done. Yields varied from field to field but yields were very good considering the very dry summer. Average was 1.2 tonnes/ac.

Angus in Action Sale Results

October 21, 2012

The sale was a great success with the purebreds averaging $2300 and the commercials $1635. Thanks to all the bidders, buyers and sale organizers.

Jeff Matheson selected Pride 1Z from our three heifer calves. Our crossbred cow was purchased by Dwight Emberley for $1500 and our crossbred heifers sold for $1600 and $1200 to Maple Meadows and Dustin McCabe respectively.

Changes to our sale entries

We have decided to spice up our purebred entry in the Angus in Action Sale Saturday October 20th. Our original consignment TXE 7Z will now be offered along with two other heifer calves as choice with only one selling and the other two coming back home.

Open Farm Day

Our farm participated in the PEI Open Farm Day today. 26 farms across the Island opened their doors to the public in order meet each other and learn about their food and agriculture. We met many new people as over 100 visitors from PEI, New Brunswick , Ontario and the Magdeline Islands enjoyed the tour. It was very rewarding to hear many of them say they had learned so much.
