Friday night I attended the "Beef n" Blues" event which was part of the month long PEI Fall Flavors festival here on Prince Edward Island. It was a sold out event held in Summerside and was a tremendous success.

Local chefs such as Ross Munroe of Sims Steakhouse and celebrity chefs such as Mark MacEwan from Top Chef Canada prepared their favorite beef dishes at various stations throughout the room using product from Atlantic Beef Products. Meanwhile we were entertained with great blues music ...

August has been a busy month

After one of the coldest and wettest July's on record, the weather finally turned in August and we were able to catch up here on the farm. First cut was finally finished the second week of the month (latest ever) and we have a little second cut to complete this week. The organic spelt destined for Speerville flour mill was harvested on the 19th and we started the barley and straw on the 27th only to have Hurricane Irene arrive today with her heavy rain and wind putting a halt to combining for...

4 year old bull for sale

Our senior herdsire Worth-a-Bit New Frontier 1U will be available Sept. 1. He is out of our best producing cow (Brooks Traveler daughter) and after three breeding seasons it is getting hard to keep him away from his maternal siblings. He is extremely gentle and easy calving with birth weights averaging 78 lbs. epd's bw -.2 ww 43 yw 81 milk 15. He is eligible for the PEI bonus.
